If it involves EIFS in any way, from your contracting or developing operations to property you may own, we’re your single source for insurance products. The list below briefly outlines the various insurance products we offer.

Click on the link below that describes what you’re looking for…

Liability Products

General Contractors General Liability Insurance
General contractors typically rely on their subs to furnish coverage when EIFS is involved. But how do you really know that they actually have the coverage you’re expecting? Unexpected losses arise when GC’s assume too much about their subs coverage, leaving them holding the bag. Changing your insurance coverage to include EIFS would provide a backstop for subs whose carriers deny a claim.

Architects and Engineers Professional Liability Insurance
Architects and Engineers have over the years come to the conclusion that writing EIFS into their plans is problematic, partly because insurance is difficult to get for themselves and the contractors that may be working the project.

EIFS insurance is readily available for A&E firms at typically no additional cost. But more importantly, firms should be aware that coverage is readily available for GC’s and subs alike through our programs. If the project is substantial enough, we may recommend an OCIP or CCIP that would include coverage for EIFS. Or, we may simply provide coverage for the down line subs and GC.

Whether it’s commercial or residential, give me a call and I’ll walk you through the available programs.

General Contractors Excess Liability Insurance
Most GC’s carry more than the industry standard 1/2/2 limits. If you or your subs work with EIFS, coverage for that class of work should be included in your excess liability policy.

Contractors Pollution Liability – The Mold Gap
General Liability policies for General Contractors have long since stopped covering mold related losses. Coverage for the gap in coverage that exists for mold related losses can be purchased covering ALL your classes of work including EIFS as well.

Artisan Contractors General Liability Insurance
We offer liability policies to contractors working with EIFS, and do so with an eye towards contract compliance. Your policy will not only cover EIFS, but it will contain the critical components required by most GC’s:
  • Coverage for commercial related work
  • Coverage for residential work, including
  • Single Family Custom Homes
  • Condominium/Town home repairs
  • Commercial work
  • Apartments
  • Assisted Living
  • Limits of 1,000,000/2,000,000/2,000,000
  • Contractual Liability
  • Additional Insured (CG 20 10 11/85 equivalent)
  • Waiver of Subrogation
  • Primary and Non-Contributory wording
  • No charge for certificates or additional insured endorsements
  • Low deductibles
  • Occurrence form

Artisan Contractors Excess Liability Insurance
More and more GC’s are requiring limits higher than the industry standard 1/2/2. If you’re trying to obtain work on larger or more sophisticated jobs, chances are you’re going to be required to carry excess limits of liability. Simply put, this is another layer of liability that sits on top of your general liability and your auto liability. A policy for 4 million would give you a total of 5 million each occurrence. If you don’t have this coverage already, don’t be surprised when a GC asks for it. One annual policy covers all your work for that year, just like your general liability.

Artisan Contractors Pollution Liability – The Mold Gap
General Liability policies for specialty Contractors have long since stopped covering mold related losses. Coverage for the gap in coverage that exists for mold related losses can be purchased covering ALL your classes of work including EIFS as well.

Property

Building Owners with EIFS cladding
Some property owners have trouble finding coverage when their building has an EIFS cladding. While insurance carriers should see the value in EIFS claddings that were quality warranted systems, installed by certified installers, this is not always the case. Call us and we’ll help you place coverage for both property and liability on all your buildings.

Large Project Liability

Wrap/OCIP programs with EIFS coverage included
Some projects, for varying reasons, are better covered by an OCIP (Owner Controlled Insurance Program). These are usually mixed use projects or condominium high rises. When the eventual exposure seems large, you feel subs may have a hard time complying with limits and coverage that should be carried by all who contribute on the project, then OCIP’s are your answer.

While there are many policies and programs out on the market today, some policies don’t contemplate the EIFS work, design or any mold related coverage for unexpected water intrusion. Don’t be caught wondering if this coverage exists. Let us do an analysis of your project and show you how these critical coverage’s can be obtained, usually for a cost no higher than what you would have normally paid. We have the industry relationships to get you what you need.
